Halloween Popcorn Treat Recipes

We’re less than two weeks away from Halloween, and if you’re planning a party, you might find yourself in need of some snack ideas to make sure all of your guests have the most scary-good time possible. Today we’re bringing you three easy popcorn treat recipes for fright night fun.

Witch’s Cauldron Popcorn Mix

Start with 10 cups of popcorn. If you pop your own, make sure to take time to remove any unpopped kernels. Then sprinkle a generous portion of salt.

Now combine three tablespoons of melted butter with three cups of mini marshmallows. Stir it all together until the marshmallows are fully coated in the butter and then fully melted.

Pour roughly one third of the marshmallow glop over the salted popcorn and then gently fold them together. Keep adding marshmallow mix a little at a time, gently stirring, until the popcorn is totally covered.

Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper. Pour the popcorn onto the sheet and even it out with a spatula. Now sprinkle the popcorn with a mix of green, brown, and purple pretzel M&M’s and regular M&M’s. We chose these colors for a classically witchy vibe, but you can substitute with whatever you like. Throw in some matching-color sprinkles if you want for extra visual pop.

Make sure you add the candy before the popcorn cools so that everything sticks together. Once it’s cooled down, you can break it into pieces and add it to your party snack buffet.

Frankenstein’s Monster Popcorn Mix

We named this one Frankenstein’s Monster because it’s more or less put together from spare parts!

To start, pop ¼ cup of popcorn, which should give you about eight cups of popped popcorn. Remember to remove the kernels!

Now combine the popcorn willy-nilly with two cups each of pretzel twists and crushed Oreos (the limited-time Halloween Oreos with orange filling add a nice pop of color), one cup of candy corn, one cup of peanut butter M&Ms, three tablespoons of sprinkles in Halloween-appropriate colors, and a quarter teaspoon of salt.

Melt four ounces of white chocolate, and then pour it over the popcorn and candy mix.

Spread the mix on a baking sheet and let it cool and harden for a few minutes, then break into pieces to serve.

Nuts About Halloween Popcorn Mix

Start with 10-14 cups of popped popcorn (about a half cup of kernels). As always remember to sift out any unpopped kernels before proceeding.

Using a knife, break up one package of almond bark. (You can usually find it in the baking aisle at the grocery store, near the chocolate chips.) Melt it down. If you’re not sure, just microwave it 10-20 seconds at a time until it’s nice and smooth.

Pour the melted almond bark over your popcorn. Then stir in a cup of candy corn, a cup of dry roasted salted peanuts, and half a cup (at least!) of Reese’s Pieces. Once everything is mixed together and well-coated in the melted almond bark, spread the mixture out onto a prepared baking sheet, let cool, and break into chunks to serve.
