Pumpkin Spice Popcorn And 3 Other Fall Popcorn Snacks
September 13, 2024
Fall might not officially start until later this month, but temperatures are dropping, the first leaves are starting to change colors, and for many of you that means it’s time for something you wait for all year: pumpkin spice season! Today on the Topsy’s blog, we’re going to be telling you how to combine the taste of pumpkin spice with the deliciousness of Topsy’s popcorn, plus giving you the recipe for three other autumnal popcorn snacks flavors.
Pumpkin Spice Popcorn Flavor Mix
This flavoring mix recipe is quick and easy, requiring no cooking.
To make it, combine 2 tablespoons sugar, half a teaspoon of cinnamon, a quarter teaspoon each of nutmeg and ginger, and 1 teaspoon of sea salt.
Combine all of the ingredients together in a small bowl, or put them in a sandwich bag and shake vigorously to combine. Sprinkle the mix over Topsy’s classic butter flavor popcorn.
Maple Butter Flavored Popcorn
A warning, this next recipe requires a little more work: you’ll have to use your microwave! But that’s as intense as it gets.
Start by combining a teaspoon of cinnamon, half a teaspoon of ground ginger, and a pinch of nutmeg.
Next, melt a tablespoon of butter in the microwave, and then whisk it together with a tablespoon of maple syrup.
Drizzle the syrup-butter mixture over Topsy’s butter flavored popcorn, stirring to make sure every kernel gets some sticky goodness. Then sprinkle the spice mixture over the top, put it all in a bowl with a lid, and shake vigorously.
S’Mores Popcorn
If you’re craving the flavor of s’mores but it’s not convenient to go start a campfire, this is the next best thing.
Melt a quarter cup of butter, drizzle it over your popcorn, and stir or toss to get all of the kernels coated.
Combine 2 tablespoons sugar, 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder, and a teaspoon of kosher salt. Sprinkle it over the buttered popcorn and stir or toss to coat.
To finish, stir in 2 cups of mini-marshmallows.
White Chocolate Pumpkin Popcorn
To finish up, we’re circling back to that pumpkin flavor you can’t get enough of. This is the most involved recipe we’ll be covering in this post, but we think you’ll find the flavor is worth it.
Melt one and a half cups of white chocolate chips, and combine the melted white chocolate with a tablespoon of canola oil. Add the pudding mix and combine until smooth.
Using a large bowl, combine about 6 cups of popcorn, one and a half ounces of pumpkin spice pudding mix, 1 cup of vanilla wafer cookies, three quarters of a cup of caramel bits, and half a cup of coasted chopped pecans.
Pour the chocolate/pudding mix over the popcorn mixture and stir until all the kernels are coated. Finally, pour the popcorn onto a baking sheet covered with parchment paper and allow to cool before breaking up to eat. You can add fall-themed sprinkles for decoration.
